Casa da Lã is located in the parish of Bucos. There are looms, wool and space for ten women to socialize, which, for taste, they meet every Thursday afternoon to catch up and dedicate themselves to wool – washing, dry, sketch, card, Emannels, spin, sock, good, roll, weave and knit.
Em 2010 The Cabeceiras de Basto City Council invited designer Helena Cardoso to develop work with these women, resulting in a set of new parts of contemporary line (where in some works already uses industrial wool), but keeping tradition in the way.
Curriculum note – Helena Cardoso – Commander of the Order of Merit
