Of MNAC, National Museum of Contemporary Art of Chiado has a defined mission since its creation in 1911, and reaffirmed upon its reopening in 1994, the dissemination of history and Portuguese artistic creation of 1850 to the present.

With an expository program in close relation with the Educational Service programming, the Chiado National Museum of Contemporary Art aims to reach different audiences, of different age groups and different levels of artistic literacy.
