From 1884, the Bordallo Pinheiro Artistic Earthenware Factory revitalizes ceramic arts with originality and innovation, and combines traditional techniques with contemporary influences.

The Bordallo Pinheiro Artistic Faience Factory, founded in 1884 in Caldas da Rainha, was created and developed with the aim of revitalizing the traditional arts of Ceramics and Clay, crossing them with the different movements of modernity, based on the originality of its creator, Rafael Bordallo Pinheiro.

Raphael Augusto Bordallo Pinheiro was a Portuguese artist, of vast work spread across dozens of books and publications, precursor of the artistic poster in Portugal, designer, watercolorist, illustrator, decorator, political and social caricaturist, journalist, ceramist and teacher.

After being acquired by Visabeira in 2008, Bordallo Pinheiro until then practically did not exist as a brand, but today it is a reference in the production of decorative ceramics in Portugal. Uses traditional production techniques that date back more than a century, Specialized artisans give life and personality to your pieces, who then travel all over the world.
The combination of historical heritage, with original molds by Raphael and his son Manuel Gustavo, with contemporary collections, resulting, in products that reflect both the past and the present is unique in the world.

There are hundreds of ceramic models of unique creativity, drawing on local traditions, particularly in Caldense pottery. Adopts fauna and flora as decorative inspiration, but also new artistic creations.
