Project authorship
After several years developing architecture and design projects, and creating concepts for events and new businesses, Joana Beirão is faced with the opportunity to activate an old passion – better understanding Portuguese production, its brands and its industrial assets, in order to actively contribute to the construction of the Portugal Brand.
Value of Writing
Being sure that we would create a new way to promote Portugal, stimulating conversations and stories about the country through the architecture and design triology, Portuguese production and industrial tourism alive, we would have to find the right person to do the copy and validate that everything that is written, it is written in the correct way. This person is Ana Águas.

Focusing on sharing Products and Stories about Portuguese Know-How from Industry to Manufacturing, This new website has an intuitive interface and a variety of intelligent resources that make it easier to view and discover the national industry through Portuguese Brands, revealing talent, the skill and entrepreneurship involved in creating each.
Combining beauty, simplicity and usability, Portugal Faz Bem provides an informative experience, aimed at enthusiasts of made in Portuguese and Brand Portugal. Although it is still in an early stage of development, we began this mapping of Portuguese production in the scope of architecture and environmental design, but we intend in the next phase, expand to other fashion and jewelry sectors – shoe, Clothing & Accessories.
The idea was born in the middle of the year 2018, but it is in 2019 which is officially placed online. Since then, it has been managing the maturity of its model and sustainability, and finally in 2022, resulting from the success of a set of face-to-face actions, provides a mapping open to everyone's use, that not only reveals Products and Stories of each Brand, as well as its Sustainable Development Objectives active in each company’s business model.
We know that Products with Soul and lasting principles, help preserve authenticity and the local economy, values that alone are already valid, However, today we have commitments to our planet that we cannot circumvent, and we must not hide. For this reason, we decided to include this information in the mapping we developed, and show which of the 17 Portuguese production prioritizes SDGs.
