Founded by Francisco Varela, re.SK8 is a brand that gives new life to skateboards.
At re.Sk8, the wood from old skateboards is transformed into unique pieces of furniture that already have a story. Architect born and raised in Lisbon, Francisco does not follow conventional standards. As a fan and skateboarder, realized that every day many people break, and that each of their stories didn't have to end like this.
Passionate about working with wood, for its natural beauty and variety of patterns and textures, Francisco knows that skateboards are made from a very special wood, Canadian Maple and various colors and patterns. By remembering to reuse it and work on wooden blocks with unrepeatable patterns, combined with other wood waste, turns it into benches, tables or clocks. And so begins a new Portuguese brand – a re.SK8.
