After the success of the first edition, Lisbon Design Week is back even more vibrant, and it happens from 22 to 26 of May. This iconic event is already present in many other cities around the world, it promises to show the world, the best brands in the areas of Contemporary Design and Crafts in Portugal.
During this magical week, Lisbon will be transformed into a showcase of creativity, with 80 locations spread across Lisbon, that open their doors to a celebration of diversity, originality and passion, adjectives that, in our opinion, very well define this city and its unique creative community in a universal context.

With an eclectic program that features everything from Exclusive Presentations and New Collections, to Inspiring Talks and Interactive Masterclasses, there is something for all tastes and interests. Get ready for an explosion of unmissable events and exhibitions.
How does it all happen?
During 5 days, from 22 to 26 of May, all 80 locations participants, which include a diverse selection of ateliers, creative studios, stores, galleries, architecture and interior design offices, schools, private spaces, hotels, restaurants and even a Mini Design Summit, will show the best of historical creativity, which growing and emerging!
Each location was challenged to highlight the best in design, Portuguese crafts, its material's and creativity of national origin, also establishing unique collaborations between artists, designers, artisans, architects, nationals and internationals. Each participant is preparing for a series of exclusive events: new individual and group exhibitions, workshops, talks, presentations, product launches, new showroom openings, special scenography, and night events, these will include special collaborations for LDW’24.
All these events around the city, offering visitors a wide range of experiences. The events will take place at Estrela, Lapa and Santos; Infante Santo and Alcântara; Campo de Ourique and Rato; Príncipe Real; Chiado and Bairro Alto; Alfama, Graça e Anjos; Saldanha and Arroios; Avenida da Liberdade and Belém.

Some highlights to consider
To fully enjoy all the activities during Design Week in the capital, the organization recommends that you create an itinerary based on the released schedule, and visit different participant locations along the way. Here are some examples of what you might find:
De La Espada Exhibition at OJO Gallery
The Portuguese furniture brand De La Espada exhibits at OJO Gallery, known for its contemporary art and use of traditional techniques. Atelier De La Espada will present a new cabinet system, arranged in dialogue with works of art created by Victor Marqué, under the curatorship of Marie de Carvalho.
Installation by Wesley Sacardi at Novobanco Gallery
A Novobanco Gallery, known for its collection of contemporary photography, will present an installation of the series “Anvil Phases” from Wesley Sacardi. This work explores the creative freedom of using different types and states of raw materials, maintaining the same original design. Wesley Sacardi, highlighted in the Homo Faber guide, reuses discarded materials to create unique pieces with a unique story, and was recently based in the Algarve. Furthermore, the gallery will open a photography exhibition by Andres Serrano.
Exhibition “Our land”
Curated by Sam Baron, the French designer based in Portugal since 2001, creates a new exhibition, especially for Lisbon Design Week. The exhibition will be held at Manuel Aires Mateus Archive and will present a selection of terracotta artefacts on a unique table that measures 14 meters long. Terracotta is a material of great relevance, originating locally and requiring low energy consumption during burning, reflecting the past and future habits and lifestyles of the regions from which it originates.
“Young Design Generation” Roca Lisboa Gallery
The exposure “Lisbon Design Week & Roca: Young Design Generation” is the result of the Open Call, an unprecedented initiative in the context of LDW, aimed at young designers under 35 years old and welcomed by Roca, event sponsor. With 55 applications received, a jury analyzed and selected the pieces that will be presented in the exhibition, that will take place in the cultural space of Roca Lisboa Gallery. This exhibition aims to present the work of the next generations of Portuguese creatives or those residing in Portugal.
Mini Design Summit’24 at the National Museum of Contemporary Art
Of our part, We could not fail to highlight the Mini Design Summit’24 which presents itself as a unique and new initiative within the museological community, to highlight the Art Store, Books & Living room at the National Museum of Contemporary Art (MNAC), and the recent Portuguese brands that now live there. It is an event that requires a reservation as there are not many chairs, but the interest will be immense!
Through the curatorship of Portugal Faz Bem and careful organization of the MNAC management, the Museum Store highlights national brands and designers that represent part of the country's creative talent, where tradition meets innovation, and creativity becomes an expression of national identity.

During the days 22 and 23 of May, the Program presents a variety of unmissable activities in the format of Workshops, Masterclasses and Presentations that are in charge of the majority of brands represented and led by the talented authors of 14 brands that have been in the store for a few months. It will be two days of celebration of Design, starring the first people of this unique collection.
Get ready, to delve into the fascinating stories behind each creation, get to know design up close, its creators and the narratives that shape current Portuguese culture and identity, that goes beyond borders and becomes very expressive and recognized through the art of know-how of the greatest Portuguese artists.

Pois é, nThe world of Digital Marketing, even museums are on board!
In the morning of the day 24, digital trends are going bo be explored, with the room viewing of an Online Masterclass with the theme “The Future Consumer”, made available by NEST, Tourism Innovation Center, followed by a Talk on Creativity and Strategies between Design and Digital Marketing, with the participation of Marco Gouveia, a recognized Digital Marketing Consultant and guru.
Marco Gouveia will bring his vast experience and enthusiasm for Search and Digital Marketing to jointly address the challenges of the interaction between Design and Digital Marketing, in the activity of building brands in digital times, focusing on SEO and SMO, since we all know that the Content
On the 25 we'll bring this initiative to an end.
On Saturday day 25, between 4pm and 6pm, You should join two unmissable conversation sessions about the connections between Design and Museums, to Cities and Organizations.
Both sessions will be moderated by Emilia Ferreira, Director of MNAC and Joana Beirão, founder of the Portugal Faz Bem platform, and curator of the store's Portuguese brands.
In the first panel, “The Design, Collections, Museums and Shops“, will feature the participation of renowned professionals, on a panel that includes:
