A special design party

For design lovers to destination

Apoios PFB LDW

A design event, Industrial industry and tourism built between bridges and crossings

A special design party from Chiado to Blessed Innovation District
More than 2000m² of exhibition with more than 20 brands, companies and creatives in three unique exhibitions that celebrate design, the production, Portuguese industry and creativity.

In full effervescence of Lisbon Design Week, The New Slogan Portugal Faz Bem – From design to destination – reveals three exhibitions in three spaces, that show worlds beyond the exhibition - to that, Sensory and narrative paths. Places where the matter meets the territory, where the creative look crosses the machine, and where the future intertwines with memory.

We wanted to celebrate Portuguese-productive knowledge through its culture by preparing partnerships, curatorials, and co-organizations of expressive exhibitions that showed how we produce with design, Innovation and Industry, in a living tribute to the encounters that recent years have brought us: Between Brands, factories, studios, institutions and friends.

ON

It all started with a desire: Invite Portuguese factories to go out on the street -Give them stage, face and life outside your walls, To show what we know we have, And we live every day. Over more than 30 years of profession as designers, that we love so much! We think this is just the beginning!

Do Mini Design Summit da Lisbon Design Week 2024, where we gathered good signs and intuitions from the first exposures, we now come to a symbolic occupation - more than 2.000 m² of facilities, over 20 brands and companies and 130 design pieces that come together for the Special Design Party, and will be shown over the next 26 days in a narrative where there will be no shortage, Guided Tours and even spontaneous Lives on social media.

We are sure that we are drawing something bigger. When sought with courage, coincidences are no longer chance — they become destiny. What is our motto? TO DO!

It is very proud that we bring you these news, And we invite you to be part of the program until 22 of June.

“The c(AI)rcle’s Pentagon”

Uma Festa de Design Especial 5

A design and art installation of Le Brimet for Gencork by Sofalca, curated by Joana Beirão | Portugal is good and program by Emília Ferreira.

The c(AI)rcle’s Pentagon explores the link between artificial intelligence, design (re)generative, Art and Sustainability. Produced with black expanded cork of the Sofalca, materializes the concept of “Naturology” (nature + technology).

The panels used in their creation are made exclusively from the branches (jaw) of the cork oaks in Portugal.

This exploratory circular structure, based on biomimetic principles, replica organic natural phenomena, deciphered by humans in co-creation with algorithmic computing. It is produced through CNC cutting machines, revealing new creative processes in the field of art and contemporary design.

Uma Festa de Design Especial 2

An immersive exposure, with institutional support from Lisboa Cultura and Museu de Lisboa, and Strategic Partnership Portugal does well.

The Power of IO, and Everything in Between It is an exhibition that celebrates ten years of exploratory creative practice of ArtCreTech Le_Brimet, holistic and interdisciplinary creative director that investigates the symbiotic relationship between materialware (The genesis of materials), software (The science of regenerative computer), hardware (Digital manufacturing processes) , humanware (human experiences).

This anthological exhibition, that marks the end of the artist's first creative cycle, will take place in Grinding factory, in the heart of Beato Innovation District, with PORTUGAL STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP , Institutional Support of Lisboa Cultura | Lisbon Museum | GRINDING FACTORY.

With an occupation of 2.000 m², it presents 100 parts, involves 7 companies and 7 brands, and proposes an immersion at the intersections between man_machine (ma(n)chine) E physical_digital (phygital).

The retrospective highlights the power of exploratory processes — human and computational — as a driving force for new aesthetic and ethical concepts applied to design and art.

Through theoretical and practical materialization, Le_Brimet investigates the challenges of technology as an innovation catalyst in the digital age, and its interaction with social contexts, economic and cultural.

The Power of IO, and Everything in Between It will be a unique experience, that shares ideas and procedural manifestos where creativity, curiosity, resilience, Sustainability and technology converge to challenge conventions and expand the limits of contemporary design - a continuous creative cycle focused on exploring the unknown to reach the unexpected.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 Cookie Monster

Uma Festa de Design Especial 3

An exhibition site-specific Authored by Diana Noronha Ugly and Curated OpenBook Studio and Promoter Joana Beirão | Portugal Faz Bem.

Cookie Monster was born from the direct analogy between the industrial processes of military maintenance factories - Moagem, bread, mass and cookies - and the specific processes of design disciplines.

By occupying the former biscuit production room measuring around 250m2, in the Factory Lisboa building, This exposure transforms space itself into an essential element of the curatorial narrative, converting it into one installation site-specific that incorporates the whole process of material transformation and involves 14 partner companies, , 50 parts of 13 Portuguese brands.

In our monstrous process of crackers, We sought real narratives.
Industry stories and its designers.
Designers and their industrialists.
We display your processes.
We display your models or prototypes.
Your pieces.
Your packaging.
We consumed.
We reuse.

We transpite our attentive look at the role of good design in industry and production for this assembly line, In a vibrant dialogue that celebrates Portuguese knowledge.

A visit not to be lost!
