Pareidolia design is expressed in a contemporary ceramic that observes, interprets and transforms
Between design, art and territory Tatiana Ferreira uses ceramics as an expressive and decorative language
Pareidólia Design is presented as a ceramic and design studio based in the Ajuda neighborhood, in Lisbon, Founded by artist and designer Tatiana Ferreira, where sculpture, the functional and decorative ceramic, tile and art applied to space. Your approach combines visual research, poetic sensitivity and a deep respect for matter and manual techniques.
All parts are designed and performed manually with national ceramic folders, highlighting the red and black clay and other materials of local origin. The process is entirely artisanal: mud, Layout parts and composition. This makes each creation unique, with subtle variations in general design that result in an organic and spontaneous composition - but carefully controlled. Ideas are born and gain shape in the studio, in a process of visual listening and continuous creative exploitation.

Biophilia - a sensory cartography between the real and the imagined
The latest series presented by Tatiana is called Biophilia and proposes a deep visual investigation into the connection between the human being and the nature. The series starts from the concept of Biofilia – The almost instinctive impulse of looking for connection with the natural world, But it goes beyond its literal expression. Here, What is designed is a Observation Cartography, of memory and imagination.
Result of a meditative contemplation process, the pieces – wall sculptures, panels and lamps - are born from the repetition of the look until the shapes lose their name. The world around is observed until textures, patterns and structures are registered mentally, deconstructed and recombined. The result: floating compositions between the organic and the abstract, where faces appear, imaginary microcosm and creatures, as if they had always inhabited a parallel dimension of nature.
