It was on the last day 7 March saw the 3rd Meeting of the Portuguese Industrial Tourism Network take place, with the revelation of the long-awaited National Agenda “Discovering Industrial Tourism” 2024 which is intended to be an entertainment vehicle for parents and children.
This release revealed 180 industrial tourism experiences available to national and international tourists, between the days 16 , 30 March. Jose Manuel Santos, president of the Regional Tourism Entity of Alentejo and Ribatejo, emphasized the importance of Industrial Tourism in the Tourism Strategy 2027, aiming to strengthen the attractiveness of territories, and value national products and production processes.

In the Alentejo and Ribatejo region, supply has grown significantly, going from nine to 15 experiences, promoted by nine partners. Colloquia, tastings, films, craft places, workshops and guided tours are among the activities offered. In addition to the presentation of the National Agenda “Discovering Industrial Tourism”, the event included a status update on the “State of the Art of Industrial Tourism in Portugal” and the signing of declarations of collaboration between new partners and Turismo do Alentejo e Ribatejo.
Highlighting the importance of the meeting, the Regional Tourism Entity emphasized the opportunity to present the Aljustrel Mining Park, opened in December 2023. This location offers various activities associated with Industrial Heritage.
