Between 26 , 31 from May of 2026, Gomes Freire Palace receives the Lisbon by Design, one of the most exclusive events on the calendar. This event is distinguished by:

Its 2nd International Conference took place in Guimarães, under the topic “Design for Different Futures | Learning with Nature”, reinforcing the role of design in building more sustainable and intelligent futures.

WAF – WOMEN IN ART FELLOWSHIP
Women in Art Fellowship: opportunity for female talent in design and art
The initiative Women in Art Fellowship, promoted by Freeport Fashion Outlet, asserts itself as a relevant project in the panorama of Art and Portuguese Design, positioning itself at the intersection between contemporary art, female creativity and innovation in the lifestyle sector.
WAF is an initiative of the centers VIA Outlets in Portugal, namely the Freeport Lisboa Fashion Outlet and the Vila do Conde Porto Fashion Outlet, in partnership with the Portugal Manual it's at SOTA – State of the Art. Together, These entities create a solid platform of continuous support for artistic creation made by women, crossing resources, networks and specialized curation.
This program was developed to support and give visibility to women artists and creators, focusing on:
- Development of original artistic projects;
- Public exhibition in a real and accessible context;
- Connection between art, community and commercial space.
The initiative differentiates itself by removing art from traditional circuits and bringing it closer to the public, creating new forms of contact with contemporary creation.
