Born in 1977 in Galicia, in northern Spain adopts the Nickname of Mokki from your childhood. It's in Portugal and in the intricacies of the rush between drawings, Portuguese projects and factories that Mónica Pinto, together with his partner and mother, Nazaré Kahler works for the brand, betting on Art as the purest form of human experience, in which the questions, doubts and restlessness of the soul and mind become matter. Both represent a multicultural family, who lives the world of Art and Design, which led Mónica to choose a Degree in Fine Arts, Decorative Painting, Restoration, Faux-Effects and Fresco and later creating your own studio, em 1997 in Sintra.
Looking for new challenges, new ways, new concepts, and the enormous desire to tell stories means that Mokki Design never stops growing. Is at 2018 that its international launch takes place and at the London Design Fair’18, followed by more international presences, partnerships and finally international awards – no Build Architecture Awards 2020 is awarded in the Best Furniture category & Lightning Design Specialists, e no Award Design Competition 2019/2020 obtem had an honorable mention with the WOODS luminaire in the Lighting Product and Lighting Design Project category. Already in 2023, the U table lamp receives the prestigious Silver A´Design Award in the lighting category of the A´Design Award & Competition 2022-2023.
All this recognition is testimony to the quality and hard work that can be seen in each piece of the Mokki Design collection., designed and manufactured sustainably in Portugal where each piece is designed and studied for a long life, while much attention is paid to the provenance of materials.

For both, it is the biggest challenge in terms of sustainability, “breaking the cycle of using, to spend, trash…”. The inspiration comes from observing the forest, of a contrast of lights and shadows translated into compositions that deconstruct natural dispositions, as literary excerpts transcribed in subtleties of dark writing projected, or in the interpretation of emotions transcribed through colors, strong volumes and shapes, inspired by world-renowned names in painting, as is the case of Mondrian of the Neoplasticism Movement.
